Yes, it will. You just have to paired the new VCI in settings.

Once you register your J2534, your MaxiSYS will become a MaxiSYS Pro. You will still be able to use the old VCI as a backup as well. It's just a matter of pairing and unpairing each unit as needed. You will be able to program BMW and Mercedes directly from Autel's servers, but you need to use a laptop and the J2534 to program every other vehicle from that manufacturers website using their software.

I might be wrong , but  if you get a used one  that was paired to a MS 908P before I don't think it will allow you to pair it to another MS908, however if you get the CD with the drivers for it, your laptop should be able to recognize the used Pro vci so you should still be able to use it off your lap top with an OE software and subscription. Be aware that if you buy a new Maxi flash Pro and want to pair it to your Ms908 to make it into Ms908P just for the ability to do programming to some BMW and Mercedes off  your MS908 , whether your year of updates is expired or not , you  will have to buy a brand new one year subscription at about $300 or more than it costs per year of updates for the regular MS 908, and from that date forward it will be a MS908 P and you cannot downgrade it back to a MS908 to update it cheaper in the event you don't see enough return form Mercedes Benz and BMW reprogramming for the extra $300 it costs to update a Pro.

I figure  aside from being able to program Mercedes and BMWs from Autel's server , if there is little or no need to do programming on those makes , then I would only use Maxi Flash Pro off a laptop as a j2534 pass through and not pair it to my MS 908 and make it into a MS908P.  There is no going back if you decide you aren't seeing enough of those 2 makes of cars for programming and setting yourself up to pay at least $300 more for software updates then it costs to update  a regular MS908 . I believe,  aside from server access presently for only 2 makes of cars (Mercedes Benz and BMW)  there is nothing a MS908 P will be able to  do that a regular MS908 and a NON Paired Maxi Flash Pro used with  a laptop can't do.
